Baby monkey brings Giants World Series luck?

First it was the Kung Fu Panda, and now there’s a monkey supposedly having some influence on the World Series. According to Larry Brown Sports, a baby monkey with Giants colors could be the good luck charm helping San Francisco in Games 1 and 2.

The baby monkey was born when the Giants were trailing the Cardinals 3-1 in the NLCS, and the team hasn’t lost since.

“Things have turned literally since she’s been born,” zoo spokesperson Abigail Tuller said. According to Tuller the baby appears to perk up when she sees people who are sporting Giants logos.

The monkey, a Fracois’s langur, is an endangered species with an orange head and black body – born a Giants fan. The monkey will change in appearance within three to six months when its head turns black like the rest of its body, but lucky for San Francisco the colors will stick around for the remainder of the World Series.

A squirrel that ran across the field became a good luck charm for the Cardinals last year when they became World Series Champs, and if the Giants beat Detroit this year the baby monkey will be in good company.

She doesn’t have a name yet, but a sign in hanging in front of the San Francisco Zoo reads, “Lucky Langur lives here.”
