Odom dozes off during custody hearing for his children

Perhaps someone should send a memo to Lamar Odom and tell him that he is free to nap anywhere he wants to, but he should probably make an effort to stay awake during the custody hearing for his own children.

That’s right, the big 6-foot-10 forward from the LA Clippers slumped over on a court bench during the custody hearing over his children, 14-year-old Destiny and 10-year-old Lamar Jr. At one point, an officer even asked Odom if he was okay upon seeing the basketball star drifting off on the hard court bench.

Odom and his former longtime girlfriend, Liza Morales, have been battling over who gets to keep their two children ever since the two split up when Odom married television star Khloe Kardashian.

Morales is understandably upset about the current relationship between the couple. They were engaged in 2000 and had two children together before Odom decided to break things off in order to pursue a relationship with Kardashian.

“I don’t think I’ll forget the tight knot I felt in the pit of my stomach the morning I received the text message with three simple words on the screen. It read ‘I’m getting married’ and it was from the man I’d spent more than 10 years of my life with.” Morales said.

It must be tough for Morales to start a family with a man who never seemed ready to commit and then find out via text that he is leaving her for a woman he barely knows. Morales elaborated a bit more on her feelings on the subject, saying she has more questions than answers.

“How could the man who’d constantly given me reason after reason for why we couldn’t get married just yet now be ready to tie the knot so quickly? There aren’t words to explain how I felt that day.” Morales said.

Morales said has no issues with Khloe Kardashian (although she did say she wants to keep her children out of the Kardashian limelight), but relations remain tense with her former boyfriend, with whom she refuses to speak to other than through a third party.

As the hearing continues on the two kids will find a home; whether that will be with Odom or Morales is to be determined. Until then, Odom might be advised to stay awake to hear the fate of his children.
