Bruins best Islanders to conclude road trip

The Boston Bruins (12-2-2) concluded a five-game road trip with a 4-1 win over the New York Islanders (8-11-1) on Tuesday night at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Bruins have won four straight since losing at Buffalo on Feb. 15.
Boston received its goals from Adam McQuaid, Brad Marchand, David Krejci and Gregory Campbell for the win. Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask made a season-high 36 saves in a solid performance between the pipes.
Highlights:
- Boston got on the board first Tuesday night, as McQuaid made it 1-0 at 6:43 of the first period. The B’s are a perfect 8-0 when scoring first.
- Boston’s league-best penalty kill stymied New York three times. The Bruins have 24 consecutive penalty kills since allowing a power-play goal in Montreal on Feb. 6. They have stopped 58 of 61 chances this season.
- The Islanders didn’t make it easy, but in the end the Bruins improved to 17-4-1 in their past 22 games against the Islanders, including victories in both games this season.
Players of the Game:
- Adam McQuaid took a pass from Tyler Seguin from the top of the right circle and ripped a slap shot that went between the right arm and body of Evgeni Nabokov. This was McQuaid’s first goal of the season and the seventh of his four-year NHL career.
- Brad Marchand scored 38 seconds into the second period for a 2-1 advantage. He has 10 goals on only 29 shots this season and has 13 points in 15 games.
- Tukka Rask improved to 6-0-1 in his past seven starts, a stretch in which he hasn’t allowed more than two goals in any game.

“This was a great road game,” said center Patrice Bergeron. “We never stopped working and we were fortunate to have a couple of bounces go our way.”
Looking Ahead:
The Bruins will be back in action on Thursday when they host the Ottawa Senators (12-6-2) at the TD Garden. The puck will drop at 7:00 p.m. This is the first of three games the two teams will play in this season. Last season, Boston won five games and lost one against Ottawa.
