•  The Houston Texans took a step back from business this week and moved their starting practice so that members of the organization could attend a memorial service for the fallen firefighters in Houston.  Players, coaches, and team personnel attended the public memorial service that was held at Reliant Stadium for Matthew Renaud, Robert Bebee, Robert Garner, and Anne Sullivan.
•  As the Boston Bruins prepare for the Windy City’s hockey club, the conditions in net are far from breezy. Boston’s goaltender Tuukka Rask hasn’t let anything blow past him this past postseason, and he was at his best when he stopped 134 of the 136 shots he faced in the Eastern Conference Final sweep against the NHL’s top offensive team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. The longer into the playoffs the Bruins have gone, the better Rask has played.
•  The Arizona Diamondbacks organization took Cory Hahn in the 34th round of Saturday’s MLB draft.  What’s so great about that? A lot. During Hahn’s freshman year at Arizona State University, Hahn was paralyzed from the chest down after breaking his neck at the C5 vertebrae in a freak accident when he was sliding into second base. This move was not just a symbolic movement for the MLB made by the Diamondbacks, but a step in the right direction for Cory and his family.

Heck Nos:

• Adam “Pacman” Jones took to the Twitter world to give his side of the story about his latest arrest after nearly two years of arrest-free conduct. The star cornerback tweeted that he was “protecting himself” from reportedly two heavily intoxicated women who approached Jones at a Reds game. Jones said he took a picture with the female fans and things took a turn for the worse when one of the woman threw a beer bottle at him, which resulted in Jones slapping her. Jones was charged with assault.
• The Celtics had high hopes of their leader, Doc Rivers, returning as the head coach of the team for next season but it looks like Rivers is not ready for a return just yet.  On Sunday when he was asked by the Boston Globe whether he was ready to make a decision on the matter, Rivers replied in a text message saying, “I’d rather not say.” Looks like this decision will be up to the luck of the Irish indeed.
• White Sox fans were more concerned with the action in the stands than in the field during their 7-5 win over the Mariners in 16 innings on Wednesday. When Kyle Seager hit a grand slam, fans hustled for the ball as it flew toward the stands, which led to a small boy being completely stampeded in the process. No souvenir is worth the well-being of a young fan.
