The people behind the screen

Lydia Everett  |  CEO

0082Lydia_ppI grew up in Michigan with five brothers and enjoy the extreme side of sports — hanging from climbing ropes in Russia and sailing across oceans. Working at a television station start-up out of college, I came to love media and all its aspects. I earned a degree from the Harvard Business School and worked at NBC in New York followed by Continental Cablevision/Media One in Boston. Pioneering new territory, finding new markets, engaging in innovation and creativity are where I love to play. Without a doubt, the time has come to give women a new line of sight into the world of sports so we can engage in a manner meaningful to and enjoyable for us. This is going to be a very big business — yet I plan to still have time for my two kids, two Portuguese water dogs and sailing and skiing as we do this! Join us!

Alice Cook  |  Founder

Alice-head-shotI grew up with skates on my feet and big dreams of going to the Olympics. My childhood home is Michigan, although my training and coaching took me everywhere from California to Wilmington, Delaware. After skating in the Olympics and the World Championships, I hung up my skates and went to college. Boston College was a perfect fit, and I fell so in love with the city that I never left. I spent 25 years as a reporter at Boston’s CBS affiliate covering some of the biggest stories in sports. I was one of only a few women in the locker room during those early years. Along the way I had the privilege of covering four Super Bowls, two World Series, two NBA Championships, a Stanley Cup Final and three Olympic Games. I have freelanced for ESPN, Turner Sports and WTBS. I covered everything from figure skating to NASCAR. Through the years I began to notice how many women were interested in sports. They love their teams and their players just as much as the men do. Because female fans make up nearly half the audience for every major sport, I decided I wanted to build something exclusively for this sports-conscious woman. So here we are!

We have a great team- and we are out to win you over. Thanks for stopping by!

I began my career at CSTV in 2003 where I hosted a variety of programs before moving to WJAR in Providence, R.I. I spent a year and half there as a weekend anchor and weekday sports reporter for the NBC Affiliate. I won an AP award in 2006 and have received two Emmy nominations for sports feature reporting. I have served as a sideline reporter for NBC Universal Sports and hosted a nightly special covering the 2006 Winter Olympic Games. In 2006, I joined New England Sports Network where I served as NESN’s studio host for Boston Bruins games and as a lead anchor for SportsDesk. I left NESN in 2011 to join the NHL Network. I’m a proud Rutgers University graduate where I was an Academic All-American as a member of the cross country and track teams. I’m also a former record holder in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase. I currently live in Boston with my husband.
