Virginia bakery creates Jayson Werth cupcake

Today isn’t a great day to be a Washington Nationals fan, after the capital’s first postseason team since 1933 blew a six-run lead to lose the NLDS in historic style last night. However, there is something left in this world that might make Nationals fans smile, if only for a moment: the Jayson Werth cupcake.

After Werth’s walk-off homer in Game 4 of the division series, Fluffy Thoughts Cakes in McLean, Virginia started whipping up these cakes in his honor. They’re $5, a bit steep for your average pastry, but worth it for Washington fans who need a pick-me-up after last night’s game. Fluffy Thoughts also sells other Nationals cupcakes for $2.50.

“We keep selling out of them,” Lara Stuckey, the owner of Fluffy Thoughts, told DC Sports Bog yesterday. “But we’ll be making them all day.”
