No love for Tebow, teammates rip him to media

Tim Tebow has his fair share of critics among sports media and NFL fans. Now, you can add his teammates to that list. According to USA Today, a story in the New York Daily News questioned more than a dozen Jets players and members of the organization regarding Tebow’s ability and readiness to take over as starting quarterback, and the answers were anything but positive.

While an anonymous defensive starter told the paper, “he’s terrible,” not all the comments were anonymous, adding insult to injury.

“It’s not even close,” guard Matt Slauson said when comparing Tebow to starter Mark Sanchez, who has a league worst 52 percent completion rate. “All the other quarterbacks know it. I have all the confidence in Mark. We don’t really have a choice. We have Greg [McElroy, the team’s third-string quarterback] . . . and we have an athlete.”

The criticism didn’t stop within the organization though, and Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw jumped on the bandwagon during an interview on WFAN radio.

“They were never satisfied. For whatever reason, they had to have Tim Tebow. Huge mistake. His body of work in Denver didn’t warrant the fact that he came to the Jets – look at the chaos that it’s created. People wanting this guy to play,” Bradshaw said. “I don’t know him, but he just can’t play.”

Their next practice should be tons of fun.
