Ted Johnson vs. Vince Wilfork

Now we women know that there are just some things you just don’t do within the ladies code. Never date a guy your friend likes. Never wear the same outfit to a party that your friend is wearing. Athletes have their own rules and one of them is NEVER diss your fellow athletes wife, which is exactly what former Patriot Ted Johnson did this week on his radio station in Houston.

Johnson, a three-time Super Bowl linebacker was asked on the show, “Who the has the ugliest spouse in the NFL?”

Though we all know this is not a question for anyone to answer, it definitely shouldn’t be answered on a radio show with hundreds of listeners. But Johnson proceeded to answer.

“He won’t hear this – Vince Wilfork,” said Johnson.

Yikes! Even worse for Johnson, Wilfork did hear it because shortly after, just like a good husband, Wilfork popped up on Twitter to defend his wife.

Johnson issued an apology right away, followed by an effort to smooth things over. It’s somehow still embarrassing to read, and Johnson’s Twitter page has since gone blank.

“I just made a huge error in judgement and want to apologize to Vince and his wife for comments I made earlier today on a Houston radio show”
— Ted Johnson (@TedJ52) March 22, 2013

Vince and his family are outstanding people who I have admired since they arrived in NE. I learned a big lesson today and feel terrible.
— Ted Johnson (@TedJ52) March 22, 2013

I have personally apologized to the family and feel awful. It was a huge error in judgment and I’m sorry for upsetting Vince’s family.
— Ted Johnson (@TedJ52) March 22, 2013

The last thing I will say about this is that I understand the criticism will own my poor decision.
— Ted Johnson (@TedJ52) March 22, 2013

Bianca Wilfork also chimed in, promising restraint.

I give major credit to Wilfork’s lovely wife Bianca for handling the comment in a dignified way. Very classy. Pro athlete wives should all take a page from this. If you have the love of your husband and family, who cares what anyone else thinks.

New Patriot safety makes a diaper deal

It’s not easy being the new guy in town, and it’s particularly difficult if you’re coming to the New England Patriots, especially if you have to part with the number you’ve had your entire career. Safety Adrian Wilson is just making the transition to New England after spending 11 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, and to make the shift easier Wilson struck deal with receiver Kyle Arrington, who currently wears the number 24.

Instead of offering Arrington money for the number, Wilson offered Arrington, whose wife just gave birth to a new baby boy, a year’s supply of Pampers. Arrington replied back via twitter stating Wilson may have to raise the bar and add baby formula to that deal.

It isn’t unheard of for players to negotiate with new teammates for certain number. Donovan McNabb, Eli Manning and Plaxico Burress have all had to make a trade or pay to keep their numbers but none have done it as creatively and calculated as Wilson. Let the negotiations begin!

Michael Jordan’s Top Secret Wedding

A wedding has been in the works for Michael Jordan and his model fiancé, Yvette Prieto, for some time now. The two have plans to wed April 27th and the superstar is doing everything in his power to keep the nuptials on the hush hush. Invitations sent out to guests included extremely specific orders, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Visitors are reportedly under a gag order to keep logistics of the wedding away from the press and not to divulge any particulars, per the couple. Guests were also reportedly asked to leave cell phones and cameras at home to ensure no pictures will be taken.

As for Jordan and Prieto, the two have been dating for three years, and Jordan proposed to the Cuban model Christmas weekend. According to reports, Prieto has signed a prenuptial agreement that will award her $1 million for every year they remain married and $5 million every year if the marriage lasts 10 years. After having one of the most expensive divorces in history, MJ is making sure to protect himself with the iron clad agreement. Best of luck to the couple. We wish them a lifetime of happiness.

Chad Ochocinco Harasses Evelyn Lozada

They’re at it again! Chad Johnson and Basketball Wives’ Evelyn Lozada can’t seem to get things right. This week Lozada let off a cease and desist letter to her ex-husband to keep him from harassing him her online.

Sources told TMZ that Evelyn’s lawyer drew up the letter and sent it to Johnson after he launched a slandering Twitter rant about her. Someone should’ve told him that insulting your ex-wife and trying to smear her image isn’t the best way for reconciliation.
Johnson got himself in trouble this week over slanderous tweets about Lozada

According to Lozada, all of Johnson’s allegations are false. She never cheated and a restraining order will be next if his claims don’t stop. In case you aren’t familiar with the heated history of the reality couple, Evelyn filed for divorce to Chad following a domestic dispute in which Chad was arrested for headbutting her just following their wedding.

Some people are like oil and water…no matter how you try to get it to mix, it’s impossible. If I were Chad I would work on catching and running routes and try to get back in the NFL. Sometimes its better to just say no to reality TV.
