Drake Denied Access Into Heat Locker Room after Game 7

Rap star Drake had an interesting encounter as he attempted to enter the Miami Heat locker room to take part in the postgame celebration following a nail-biting NBA Finals Game 7 win over the San Antonio Spurs. Drake was denied access because he didn’t have media credentials.

“I am media!” Drake said laughing, but security obviously didn’t believe it, and he wasn’t allowed in.

Drake had sat courtside during Game 7, witnessing the Heat’s sharpshooting en route to a second straight title, and apparently wanted to take part in the champagne drinking. Maybe he’d come up with a new name for himself, just like Wade told media to call him “Three.” How about “One” for the number of Grammys to Drake’s name?

Perhaps he and new NBA Finals MVP LeBron James aren’t “brothers” or “real family” after all? Surely Bron could have gotten Drake in if he was family…

Started from the bottom and now he’s here, apparently at a level where he thinks he’s recognizable or important enough to be let into a locker room. Sorry to break it to ya, buddy.

It was a splendid moment for media personnel everywhere:

Drake wasn’t left out completely, however, and ended up being part of the post-locker room festivities, as he was seen eating pizza on a stage in celebration with James, Dwyane Wade and other team members at a Miami club.
