Heat Victory Saves LeBron’s Wedding

Apparently if the Miami Heat had lost to the San Antonio Spurs Thursday night, then the Heat fans wouldn’t be the only ones facing major disappointment. According to Lebron James, a Heat loss could have been bad news for his fiancée, Savannah Brinson.

LeBron and Savannah have been engaged since last year after dating since the pair met in high school and set a wedding date for mid-September as the happy couple hope to continue their life together. All of that could have changed though if the Heat lost to the Spurs in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

“I got a wedding coming up with my beautiful fiancée.” James said. “It will be an unbelievable wedding now that we’ve won instead of losing. I might have called it off if we had lost. “So now it’s going to be one of the best weddings ever.”

I guess LeBron didn’t want the memory of his team losing and the grumbles of his choking in the playoffs to taint his wedding day. Whether the reaction is extreme (or even authentic) is up for debate, but at least the Heat won so the wedding is still on.

Congrats to the happy couple as they prepare for their life together. If his wedding was the kind of motivation Lebron needed to step up his game it looks like it worked — although it’s hard to imagine how things might have turned out if he had indeed lost.
