Nike released bold LeBron shoes with even bolder prediction

Nike released its latest version of the low-top LeBron X’s in a gaudy lime green, orange and black sort of splatter-paint pattern. Even bolder  — and maybe more hideous, depending on how you look at it — than the print is the inside of the shoes, which have a bit of a… forward prediction.

Inside one of the shoe, on the sock liner, it claims that LeBron James is a “2-Time Champion.”

James and the Miami Heat, two-time champions? That’s cute. Especially considering you’re trailing 3-2 in the series to the San Antonio Spurs.

But he’s young, he’s got plenty years left in his career, he’ll be a champion again at some point, right? Maybe that’s what he was referring to.

Nope. In the other shoe, it states that these championships came in 2011-12 and 2012-13.

I’m not sure if you can blame LeBron for this — this is probably more on Nike — but considering it’s not even guaranteed that you’ll win three games in this series, it’s a rather daring assumption to have your shoes say you’re the 2012-13 champion. Maybe it’ll serve as motivation for James and his teammates to play hard these next two games. Or it could turn out to be a total embarrassment.

Let’s just say that if the Spurs clinch the series and the NBA title tonight, it’ll be pretty hilarious.
