Stanley Cup(cakes) Finals: What’s your favorite flavor?

After being on the losing side of a exhilarating, triple-overtime, Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals, the city of Boston will need more than a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee to get through the day.  Ease the pain of the early Thursday morning loss to the Chicago Blackhawks with the help of a sweet treat to kick the blues away before Game 2 on Saturday night. Bakeries across New England are getting in on the sweet side of the support for our beloved Boston team by featuring Bruins-themed cupcakes this post season.  The cupcake-shop, Sophisticakes, will feature some fun Bruins-related cupcakes for all of fans to enjoy on game days. Go in and try “Bananas for Bergeron” (vanilla cupcake, banana and chocolate swirls, banana and chocolate butter cream frosting), “Marchand Mint” (chocolate cake, mint swirls, crushed mint maltballs, mint butter-cream frosting) or a different Bruins cupcake (they have 10 flavors) today!

While some are growing play off beards, others will bake! Stop into Ohlin’s Bakery in Cushing Square where they have created cupcakes and minicakes in black and gold frosting. The best part? The cupcakes ($1.35) and minicakes ($2.25) are reasonably priced!

With two full days off until the Bruins and Blackhawks take the ice, fans will be looking for something to do to kill time before Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
