Muhammad Ali still healthy, despite brother’s remarks
A new report from a U.K. newspaper, The Sun, sheds an alarming light on boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
Ali’s brother Rahman told The Sun that his brother is not doing so well.
“My brother can’t speak — he doesn’t recognize me. He’s in a bad way. He’s very sick. It could be months, it could be days. I don’t know if he’ll last the summer. He’s in God’s hands. We hope he gently passes away,” Rahman told the paper.
However, Ali’s family spokesman Bob Gunnell told the Courier-Journal that this is not true.
“He looks great. He’s having a Super Bowl party.”
Ali’s daughter Laila Ali posted on Twitter to clear up some rumors.
Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1984. Since then, he has become a philanthropist for the syndrome and its research, as well as for the Special Olympics and the Make a Wish Foundation.
