Kevin Durant becomes newest addition to Roc Nation Sports
Is there anything that Jay-Z cannot do? These days it seems like the hip-hop superstar has mastered everything that has come his way. His most recent accomplishment: his sports agency. Jay-Z started his Roc Nation Sports agency earlier this year and it seems like he has anything but 99 problems with the business.
The biggest names in the game have signed over with Shawn Carter, Jay-Z’s real name, and his latest client is NBA sensation Kevin Durant. The OKC star posted on his Instagram Monday morning a picture of himself and Jay-Z signing a new contract.
“Grateful for this opportunity with Roc Nation Sports,” Durant posted with the picture. “It’s go time.”
Jay-Z, who has been not only an avid fan of the NBA, but a huge supporter of Durant with his play on and off the court. His favorite part of Durant’s game: his free throw shooting.
“He has a 90.5 percent free throw shooting rate,” Mr. Carter said. “…The youngest player in NBA history to join the 50-40-90, a giving individual and a legend in the making. What more can I say?”
Durant is just one of the three major clients that have signed with Roc Nation Sports agency in the past month. New York Yankee’s Robinson Cano made his contract with “Hov” official just last month, being the first athlete to sign with the new agency. Rookie quarterback Geno Smith signed on to the team as well with his first season quickly approaching with the New York Jets.
