McIlroy and tennis star girlfriend deny engagement rumors
After being spotted with a rather large looking ring on her left hand, tennis player Caroline Wozniacki and golfer Rory McIlroy are denying any rumors flying around about an engagement.
The couple was spotted at Brisbane International Airport in Australia flashing what looked like a sapphire ring with a diamond halo around it (very reminiscent of the one Prince William gave Kate Middleton when they got engaged) and a matching diamond and sapphire band next to it.
The rumors were sparked by the fact that the women’s tennis star was wearing the rock and matching band on her left ring finger, but apparently it is Danish tradition for the women to wear their engagement rings on their right hand.
So is it just a pair of rings that Wozniacki likes to wear or could it be something more? We might not know for sure for a while, but one thing we do know for sure is that the lovebirds love to keep the media and their fans guessing.
All these recent talk of wedding bells comes not long after the tennis star fended off the same reports back in November when Sascha Bajin, Serena Williams‘ hitting partner, played a prank on the couple by congratulating her on their happy news.
Caroline then tweeted in reply: “Can’t believe you started rumors like that! @BigSascha .. Not engaged yet, but you’ll be the first to know if we do!;) hehe.”
For now, both fans and gossip columnists alike will keep a watchful eye on Caroline’s left hand both on and off the tennis court.
