Chad Johnson in hot water following arrest

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is known for making headlines on and off the football field with his loud personality, but this time the buzz is all about his arrest for an alleged domestic violence dispute. According to Yahoo Sports, one of the newest members of the Miami Dolphins was arrested for allegedly headbutting his wife in Florida.

Apparently, Johnson and his wife Evelyn Lozada, star of Vh1’s “Basketball Wives,” began arguing when she found a receipt for condoms in their car and while still parked in the driveway, Johnson headbutted her.

“She has a pretty good-sized laceration on her forehead,” Davie Police Capt. Dale Engle told the Miami Herald.

The Dolphins released a statement via Twitter Saturday night regarding Johnson’s arrest:

“We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering all the relevent information.”

Johnson and Lozada were married this summer on the Fourth of July, and the pair received a lot of face time on the season premiere of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” which follows an NFL team throughout training camp.

Since the start of his NFL career, Johnson has not been arrested, although he was arrested during his time in college. Ironically, he jokingly told team officials, “I’m going to get arrested this weekend,” while leaving the Dolphins’ training facility on the first episode of “Hard Knocks.”
