Brady Celebrates Big at the Kentucky Derby

While Tom Brady hasn’t gotten the chance to celebrate many Super Bowl wins of late, he came very close to that level of excitement at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

When Orb won the Kentucky Derby, Brady was seen celebrating jubilantly with the horse’s connections, though he declined an invitation to the winner’s circle. Still Brady was seen hugging and cheering with several teammates as they celebrated Orb’s win.

There is an unconfirmed rumor that Brady may have had some money at stake on the horse, which would certainly explain why he was so excited. Any other connection Brady may have to Orb is a tad fuzzy, so chances are he was betting that day, which would justify his being so excited after the race.

While the celebration was certainly a joyous one, there was a small dose of drama thrown in for good measure. Former Patriots’ and longtime friend of Brady, Wes Welker, was in the area (he seems to be the last one in the pig-pile at the end of the video), and some speculate that he may have been present at Brady’s celebration after the race. We wonder what Patriots ownership might think of that, as Welker chose to leave the team once he could not come to a contract agreement with New England. Brady even famously restructured his contract to give the Patriots plenty of cap space to get the job done, and he wasn’t happy when they failed to do so.

Even without Welker, there’s many New England fans hoping that at the end of the 2013 season, Brady will have an additional reason to celebrate with his teammates.
