Rex Ryan’s controversial tattoo

Just after the New Yorks Jets ended their 6-10 season, head coach Rex Ryan  headed to the Bahamas for a relaxing vacation.

Much to his disappointment, Ryan was spotted sunbathing, showing off a tattoo on his arm. It appears to be his wife wearing nothing except a Mark Sanchez jersey. Finally, a possible reason as to why Ryan has been sticking by Sanchez! And that pose vaguely resembles Tebowing…hmmm.

All joking aside, this tattoo has raised some concerns for the Jets. While some do believe the tattoo is fake, it is sending a message to fans and the players. Even though Sanchez has had a rough two seasons, Ryan has not benched him, causing a lot of controversy. This tattoo makes it even more clear that Ryan will be sticking by Sanchez, who is already on the roster for next season.

If getting a tattoo of a player’s jersey doesn’t scream playing favorites, I’m not sure what does. As a coach, you’d assume Ryan should remain impartial and show all his players the same respect.

What do you think? Was this a poor decision on Ryan’s part? Sound off in the comments below.
