Top Boston chefs to dish up aid for The One Fund at Fenway event
Looking for a last-minute Mother’s Day gift? You might want to consider tickets to Boston Bites Back, a charity event at Fenway Park aiming to raise $1 million for The One Fund.
The event will feature 100 of Boston’s top chefs who will show off their best dishes in a unique tasting at the big concourse and Budweiser deck at Fenway Park. It was organized by chefs Ken Oringer and Ming Tsai with help from the Red Sox, Governor Deval Patrick, Mayor Tom Menino and ARAMARK, and it will be held on May 15, the one-month anniversary of the marathon bombings.
There will also be a unique auction in conjunction with the tasting that offers some once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. One of our favorites is the meeting with Bill Belichick on the field before the Patriots take on the Buccaneers on Sept. 22 with pregame field access and two VIP tickets to watch the game with Belichick’s girlfriend, Linda Holliday. The bidding for that package is estimated at $15,000.
Other auction items include the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at Fenway Park, a day of fishing and then cooking with two Boston chefs, and a package offering a cooking class, a suite at the Four Seasons hotel in Boston, two luxury box tickets to a Patriots game, and a behind the scenes tour of the Boston Aquarium.
Tickets for the event are pricy – general admission tickets cost $200 and VIP tickets cost $1,000, but the money goes to a good cause.
