Robert Griffin III’s unconventional Halloween treat

Published On November 1, 2012 | By Shane Ohalloran

Trick-or-treaters who knocked on Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III’s house on Wednesday night were treated not to the traditional candy bar but rather a pair of comfy, RGIII-endorsed socks.

Yes, you read that right: socks for Halloween. We’re willing to bet that if Griffin wasn’t an incredibly popular and charismatic professional athlete, his “treat” would have been received more along the lines of that toothbrush your neighborhood dentist always insisted on giving out.

Nonetheless, costumed revelers soon took to Twitter to express their gratitude and share pictures of the socks. Needless to say, Griffin’s relationship with the Washington DC community has…wait for it…gotten off on the right foot!
