Posing nude, dancing with the stars, a trip to China – how NFL players spent their off season
Today marks the day that the players will report for pre-season fresh and ready for go-time (Shoutout to all my fellow Patriots fans!).
As we gear up for football season, it’s time to check out how some players spent their off-season. While players recover from all the bumps and bruises they may have endured during the season, they also use their time off to be with their family, go on vacation, and train to stay in the best shape possible. There are a few players however who dedicate their free time to learning new skills, or traveling to far away places. We wanted to check in on some of those guys who may have had a more interesting off-season than others!
Stripping it down
Patriots, Julian Edelman posed for ESPN The Body Issue 2017. Edelman did something he had never done before as he shed his clothes, going completely bare bones in front a camera.
The wide receiver, who is a big fan of eating burgers, decided to pose with one in some of the photos as the shutter clicked. In an exclusive ESPN interview, Edelman said that “My body is my temple and that’s why I feed it burgers.”
The interview revealed that Edelman is a lot like us. He admitted that he is vulnerable in his own skin. The star receiver said that if he could change one thing about his body, he would change his fingers as he has broken all of them at some point during his career from catching passes in different ways.
Dust Off Your Dancing Shoes
Each off-season, running back free agent, Rashad Jennings promises himself he will try to learn something new. This year was no different.
While Jennings was training heavily and in the midst of contract inquires, he took first-place and the Mirror Ball Title in Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars. Jennings entertained during his free-style, rocked the contemporary, and thrilled during the graceful Viennese Waltz. Jennings is still a free agent as of this point, but his off-season was way too interesting to not share in this post.
He performed with the likes of former MLB catcher, David Ross and gold Olympic Medalist, Simone Biles and many others.
His partner Emma Slater, took Jennings talents to the next level as he mastered the new art of dance. Jennings has also spent some of his summer touring in the show Dancing With The Stars: Live! /Hot Summer Nights.
Jet Setter, Talented, and Extremely Fashionable (Not to mention extremely attractive):
The one and only, Tom Brady nabbed the 12th slot (How fitting) on Sports Illustrated list for its annual Fashionable 50.
Not only has TB12 been busy being named extremely fashionable, the quarterback has also posted plenty about spending time with his kids and his bombshell of a wife Giselle on his Instagram.
He’s apparently learned how to surf as well. Yes, we can all admit right now that we are jealous of the life that Tom continues to live and secretly dream about having one similar to his.
Brady has also been quite the jet setter, traveling to China, Japan, and Costa Rica. Brady headed off to Asia as part of his Under Armour endorsement deal.
While the quarterback has been focused on working with his business and introducing TB12 Performance Meals, Brady inked a new partnership deal with Ashton Martin Lagonda.
Apparently, Brady is not the only fashion icon on the Patriots roster. Earlier this month receiver Danny Amendola signed a contract with Ford Models. The agency cited Amendola’s appealing physical style, work ethic and impressive physique as the reason for his hire. The contract makes Amendola the first-ever NFL athlete to appear on Ford Models roster. Amendola’s girlfriend Olivia Culpo, who is a Miss Universe winner has also embarked on a successful modeling career.
There were plenty other players who had interesting off-season tales, but for now it’s time for these guys to get to work as they focus on the 2017-2018 NFL season. So get those Fantasy teams ready, the NFL is back!
