NFL Throwback jerseys: Yay or nay?
The Pittsburgh Steelers took on the Washington Redskins at home on October 28 in interesting fashion. The biggest headline from the game was not the final score, but rather the hideous throwback uniforms the Steelers wore for the game. In light of their fashion faux pas, we decided to take a look at some of the best (and worst) throwbacks in the NFL this season.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers’ throwback jerseys look more like rugby uniforms than football uniforms. The black and yellow stripped jerseys matched their striped socks, and they had tan pants to finish off the uniform. Overall, this uniform was just awful.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
On October 21, the Buccaneers stepped out in their light orange old school jerseys and matching white pants. This was the uniform they had up until 1997 when they changed to their current red jerseys.
New England Patriots
The Patriots wore their throwback jerseys for their October 21 game against the Jets. Opposite of their normal blue jerseys, the Pats throwback jerseys are a solid red with blue and white striped shoulder patches and white pants.
Washington Redskins
Normally the Redskins wear a burgundy colored jersey with gold pants. In honor of their 80th anniversary, they showed off their throwback uniforms this season. The throwbacks consist of maroon jerseys with tan pants. They are not too different than the current jerseys.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons showed off their throwback uniforms on September 30 in their game against the Carolina Panthers. Their throwback uniforms are black jerseys with white pants and some red on their helmets. Normally, the uniforms are a red jersey with white pants and black helmets.
