Ed Reed not pleased with twisted Patriots comments
Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed is set to become a free agent this offseason. And well, the Patriots have a need for his talents.
Reed was quoted earlier this week saying some pretty complimentary things about Pats coach Bill Belichick, fueling the fire surrounding his possible placement next season.
“He is a great coach. I’m sure he can help me to expand my football knowledge even more as a player and as a coach, so if I’m ever able to be around him, just like I was at the Pro Bowl, it’s huge,” Reed said, according to Larry Brown Sports.
But Thursday, Reed expressed his displeasure with the way the media handled his comments.
“The bad part about this is that you all ask the question, but don’t write down everything that someone says,” Reed said, according to Pro Football Talk. “People only get a part of what the comment was. I don’t have to say much about that. My heart is in Baltimore. The question is, ‘Would I play for Bill Belichick?’ Yes. What football player wouldn’t play for Coach Belicheck? Will I be in New England? Most likely not. It’s just terrible that people get half of the story.”
Now just think of the irony if Reed did end up in New England.
